Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an eight-week mindfulness program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, who’s considered by many to be the “father of modern mindfulness” in America, at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
MBSR combines mindfulness meditation and gentle yoga and encourages students to explore their behaviors and thoughts to discover patterns that may be obstacles to a more joyful life.
This evidence-based program has been studied extensively and shown to not only reduce stress, but improve focus and attention, increase feelings of well-being, and be beneficial for those who struggle with anxiety or depression.
MBSR has been shown to be helpful for reducing:
stress
depression
ADHD
sleep issues
chronic pain
anxiety
We thrive in our environment - no matter the circumstances - when we can connect to a deeper experience of presence and awareness in the moment. Our resilience builds when we move out of resistance to what is and into acceptance of our current situation. This transports us from surviving to thriving in all aspects of our lives.
